Getting started with DCS for Salesforce

Delphix Compliance Services (DCS) for Salesforce offers a specialized and efficient solution for protecting sensitive data by seamlessly integrating with Salesforce platforms, enabling users to mask data directly within their Salesforce instances. This tool ensures that data privacy and compliance requirements are met without compromising the utility and accessibility of the data.

Utilizing in-place masking technology, DCS ensures that the integrity and structure of Salesforce data is maintained while replacing sensitive information with realistic, anonymized data. Prerequisites

Below are the suggested prerequisites for DCS for Salesforce:

  • Salesforce Enterprise Edition.

  • Salesforce Sandbox instance (Delphix Compliance Services does not connect to production instances).

  • The user connected to Delphix Compliance Services must have read and write privileges on the objects that will be masked:

    • System administrator privileges are recommended. While not strictly required, it ensures that the masking will have access to most of the required read and write APIs.

    • Alternatively the following permissions are required at a minimum:

      • Read and write privileges on the objects that will be masked. Ideally Modify All permission on objects to be masked.

      • Profile with API Enabled administrative permission.

      • Profile with Customize Application administrative permission.

      • Profile with Modify Metadata Through Metadata API Functions administrative permission.

      • Masking of certain objects will require special permissions. For example, to mask Campaign fields, the user will need to be enabled as a "Marketing User".

      • Make sure the View Encrypted data general user permission is enabled in the user profile if any masked data is encrypted and needs to be masked.

  • Relax IP restrictions for the Delphix Compliance Services connected app.

  • Spare API capacity for masking and synchronization jobs to run.
